What is Android

Android is an operating system that is used in smartphones and tablet PCs. Functions the same as in Nokia's Symbian operating system, Apple iOS and BlackBerry OS.

Android is not tied to any one brand of mobile phones, some well-known vendors are already using Android include Samsung, Sony Ericsson, HTC, Nexus, Motorola, and others.

Android was first developed by a company called Android Inc, and in 2005 in the acquisition by the Internet giant Google. Android is made on the basis of a modified Linux kernel, and for each of its release was given a code name based on the name of the food dish.
